Volunteer Positions
These are ideal positions for anyone in college, retired or who has graduated and is looking for experience in the field of psychology or social work.

Outreach Presenters
Should be comfortable with public speaking and have their own transportation. You will be expected to volunteer and avg. of 3-5 hours per week. Candidates will be trained on two consecutive Saturday’s typically, and then you will be expected to shadow the coordinator for a minimum of one presentation in a classroom of a local middle school or high school. Presenters are responsible for showing up on time, dressing appropriately and handing out evaluation forms to the teacher(s) after the presentation. You will also need to remind the teacher that we need to collect a survey at the conclusion of the presentation from the students. The questionnaires can be mailed to us, or the volunteer can pick them up at a later date. The questionnaire is extremely important for our fund raising efforts to collect.

School Liaison Representative
Seeking individuals to make calls during school hours to set appointments for our presenters. Must be able to access Google Calendar and keep a spread sheet of contact information and outcome of calls on a weekly basis. Minimum of 3 hours per week is required.

Co-Coordinator
Available approximately 10 hours per week to assist with interviewing new volunteers, training, scheduling presentations with local schools, and maintaining excel spread sheet. Coordinator should be comfortable with public speaking in classrooms and able to commit to at least one school year for this position. Training will be provided.

Internships
PIT is seeking part-time interns to help us fulfill some of our agency needs. Please contact the director if you are interested in helping at our agency.

Marriage and Family Therpist/ASW Internship
Our main office is in Santa Clara. We have a contract with the Franklin McKinley School District to support elementary school students. Our intern program is needed to support at risk youth and children who are in need of social and emotional support. We are searching for motivated, enthusiastic interns who want to make a difference in our community. Internship opportunities Include: Experience with adolescents (at risk youth), parents, children, psychotherapy, group work, knowledge of school system, community collaboration, resource and referral, case management. Hours: Average 10 per week, with the opportunity for more. Free supervision provided every Mon. from 9-11 by a licensed MFT with 20 years of experience in the field. Must be a MFT Trainee, registered MFTI with the BBS or ASW, carry malpractice insurance, and commit to a one year contract. Position is available immediately. Research Internship
Seeking individual who is motivated to helping us find potential grants. This individual ideally would be a college student who would be able to discern whether the grants are relevant to our mission statement and goals.

Speakers
We are seeking individuals who have successfully completed either a 52-week Men’s Batterer’s Intervention Group or a 26-weekTeen Domestic Violence Group. Speakers must be violence free for at least 1 year since they completed their groups.

Presenters
PIT is seeking individuals who would be comfortable presenting domestic violence prevention material to middle and high school students. Training will be available. You must be able to provide your own transportation and be over 18 years of age. This position would require being available during school hours.

Temporary Position
Seeking volunteers to call on local schools to identify contacts for PIT to call on for our community outreach program.
